TOYOTA FRONT SEAT JACKERS® (TACOMA 1995-2004)

I have a 1996 Tacoma and could not find equivalent seat risers for my year truck elsewhere, so took a chance on these. I live in Mexico and paid extra in shipping to have them forwarded to me here. This also eliminates the possibility of returning them without an additional $20 shipping charge. The unit for the drivers side door side was not drilled properly and I could not get a bolt to align with the mounting hole. It was drilled too high on the flange side. I had to ream out the hole with a drill to get it to fit, I would expect more precise machining for $90. After getting them installed I took a 2 hour drive and only noticed a slight improvement in comfort. These only lift 3/4", which does not bring the front seat edge up to touch the bottom of my legs. I am 5'10" tall. Other products found on **** for less than half the price (but not for the 96 Taco) lift 1.5", which I imagine would be much better to relieve lower back pain and increase comfort. I had a feeling that this would be the case and delayed ordering them from DesertDoesIt because of the risks, but heard others say how they felt they improve their comfort and are worth the cost. My mistake.

The height achieved is nice. The directions are a bit confusing and you must pay attention to the bolt threads and where the bolts go. For me the mistake was not lining up the bolt that goes into the aluminum block. Pre **** the bolts to see where they go, I found the fit is snug. With that if you believe the bolt is snug when tightening but it’s actually not lined up correctly the threads in the aluminum block will easily strip. This happened to me. I managed to fix with a different bolt.

The jungle website is NOT the place to buy these ... buy direct for proper fitment. A great product! Wife said ... "I'm no longer falling into the pedals". Feels like a new truck to me ... and it's my daily.

Get you some! You pay for the 'engineering' ... and it's worth it! Sure, you can "rig something up" ... but I like the peace of mind that comes with a quality product like this ... especially while gassin', breakin' and shiftin'! ... and overall, enjoyin' my drive!

I own a 2000 2wd extra cab Tacoma , I am 6’4 so leg room is a must . I ordered the seat jackers , installed them and they have worked perfectly. Definitely worth the purchase.
