JEEP SEAT SLAMMERS® (WRANGLER & GLADIATOR)

Instructions are clear. Getting the jig tight on passenger side seat was a bear. Due to floorboard obstruction on passenger side on my Mojave, I could only go down a half inch after a minor mod (cut off protruding bolt), but that's all I needed. I tried 1.5 inches down (no spacers) on the driver side but found I liked it better with half inch spacers in. If you're not mechanically inclined, get someone to help you. This is a godsend for me at 6' 5". I'm much more comfortable and my head no longer touches the roll bar.

A little harder to install on power seats, directions were harder to follow because of the power seats. But once they were in it worked great. I now have plenty of room from the speaker bar!

I'm 6' 5", and, while I technically fit in my new-to-me 2024 JLUR, I wasn't really comfortable. I originally purchased and installed the Shorty Front Seat Jackers, which improved things, but my right knee was still too close to the dash, and rested against the center cluster uncomfortably. After consulting customer service, they convinced me that installing Seat Slammers would solve my problem.
Installation was pretty easy, with the hardest part being working up the nerve to cut up a perfectly good seat bracket. I kept my Shorty Front Seat Jackers in place, which essentially gave me option 2 for the Seat Slammers, and after several test fits, ended up going with 1/4" spacers under the rear brackets. The installation gave me at least an inch more clearance from the dash, and the angle of the seat bottom supports my legs so much better. My head now sits directly under the soundbar, with roughly 2" of clearance. I couldn't be happier with the results!

The change to the drivers seat positioning was great, so I ordered another set for the passenger side as well. Once again, quick shipping, quality product, and a satisfied customer. Keep up the great work DDI :)

I bought Seat Slammers for my Jeep JL 2-door. The parts themselves were a work of art, but the directions were lacking for this model. I watched several you tube installations, mostly on gladiators before starting mine. There is an installation comment about “making sure to drill holes on either side of outside slide limiting pin” but nothing else about how/what to do. In reality, after bolting down the template and making the angled cut, it has to be loosened and repositioned before drilling. The problem solving, re-drilling and hole widening just about doubled the installation time. Please add a photo or two more sentences to the installation sheets. There’s plenty of space to do so.

So let me start off by saying I’m tall 6’4 to be exact. Long trips in my jlu sucked my lower back would be killing me after about 3 hours and not to mention hitting my head on the sound bar . I installed the seat slammer kit .the installation is straight forward just make sure you have a good sawzall blade and drill bits. The seating position is a game changer if you’re unhappy with the seating position this is the kit for you!

These are a game changer I set the rear at 1”lower . This is a complete game changer for tall people.

Our 6'6" son has been complaining about being uncomfortable and foot/ankle cramping in his JL. His legs are also very close to rubbing on the steering wheel. I looked at the extension solutions out there but they all seem to increase the height of the seat as well...didn't want that. That's when I found (thanks to ChatGPT) the Desert Does It Seat Slammers. After getting over the fact that I'd be doing a major modification to the seat mounts, I went for it and ordered Option 2 for the full 2" drop. Followed the instructions, used the right tools, and the installation was straightforward and easy. I'm 6'1" but immediately could tell the difference in how you feel like you're sitting in the seat and not on top of it - if that makes sense. But more importantly my son said the Seat Slammers make all the difference in the world with his comfort and ability to drive. I'm honestly considering adding Seat Jackers or even Slammers to the passenger seat because now I notice the "riding on top of the jeep seat, instead of in it."

I’m so happy I didn’t have to spend all the hours in my fabrication shop modifying seat rails. People often underestimate the amount of time involved in custom seat mounting. DD is a back&time saver. I did the Jackers and Slammers on the driver seat for extra rearward tilt. I can see stop lights again! Excellent product and customer service.

I originally went with seat jackers, my 5' 2" wife loved them, myself at 6' had just a little clearance between my head and the sound bar. I later switched to the 1.5" seat slammers and we are both very pleased with the results.

I finally got the chance today to install my seat slammers and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t have to duck to get in my gladiator anymore and I don’t hit my head on the sound bar. It gives the truck a totally different feel now behind the wheel. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Slammers

Im 6'4" with a bad back and went with the 1.5" drop. I popped these on and made a 16 hour drive across country with zero back pain. It now feels like I sit in the truck rather than on a lawn chair set in the truck. Huge improvement!

Makes all the difference to JL Rubicon. Makes jeep enjoyable for the tall.

Bought this for my husband..he really had a hard time getting comfortable driving..he installed seat slammer , we recently took a vacation..he drove it the whole time with no complaints!

I installed my seat slammers about a week and a half ago. Since then, I’ve driven about 700 miles and this modification has been AWESOME.

Way better seating position. Legs and back do not get as tired. And it is easier to see traffic lights. I’m 6’7 and before installing this i had to lean forward to see almost all traffic lights. Now, i only need to do that for about 15-20% of traffic lights i come to. And no concern on hitting my head on the soundbar.

Install wasn’t hard. Did it by myself. The 2025 Gladiator has a way more complex wiring harness under the seat than whats shown in the install video on earlier model Gladiators. Just take a picture before you start unplugging so you can ensure it goes in the right spot when you reinstall

Being 6'10 I literally had to cram myself into my Jeep and had to sit extremely upright not hit my head on the rollbar. Installing the full Seat slammer max drop kit has been an absolute game changer. I can now sit in a comfortable position, my head clears the roll bar and my knees are out of the dash. I don't know why jeep didn't design the seat like this from factory! 10/10

This is the best and most needed mod to my Jeep!!! If you are on the fence , just do it!! I’m 6’2”, I’ve driven my 2024 Jeep from coast to coast 31k miles in one year . So I can definitely recommend this product!!!

I’ve bought two Jeep Gladiators, and both times I purchased a set of seat slammers within a week. Great product, and even better customer service. Can’t recommend them enough!

Easy to install

First off, I have no financial ties to DDI, besides giving them my money for this great mod. Seriously, listen to all the reviews who tell you to just do it if you're on the fence. I was one of those people and I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone to get comfortable.

As a guy of 6'2" and mostly torso (32" inseam), I've never fit that great in my JK Wrangler without some seat modifications. Although I fit fine enough in my Gladiator as is, the seating position was always a bit high for me, even on the lowest seat setting. They make front seat jackers to help the flat seating position, which are nice in terms of comfort, but don't necessarily alter the seating position. I tried them and returned them. After doing a lot of research, watching videos, reading forum posts, and reviews, I did it. I'd been agonizing over biting the bullet, but I finally ponied up the money and bought the Seat Slammers from Desert Does It.

The modification steps are all fairly simple, but to do it well requires you to slow down and take the time. It's a bit of a slog, because you have to remove the door, discharge the batteries, and remove the seat even before starting. Essentially, you cut your rear legs off before the seat rails, and drill two bolt holes on each side using a jig. After that, you spend a lot...a lot of time cleaning up, then painting over your cuts and marks. I should have taken my own advice and done a better job masking off to make clean up a little bit easier.

I installed mine with the biggest drop my kit offered of 1.5". At first, the difference felt very dramatic, but it didn't take long for it to feel normal for the first time since I owned my Gladiator. Even if I pump the seat up a little bit, it feels strange to sit even at that height. The position of the brake and gas pedal aren't bothersome anymore and feel much more natural. The door card and center console are actual proper resting points for my arms and I can see the traffic lights again without ducking my head. Like others have said, I finally feel like I'm sitting in the Jeep, not on it. Lots of work, but well worth it.

I’m 6’4” and have a 34-inch inseam. I chose option 1. Before installing it, I couldn’t get my seat in the right position because my head would hit the sound bar. But after installing it, I can recline to my favorite driving position and have almost an inch of clearance between my head and the sound bar. I’m going to buy a second set for the passenger side for my tall friends.

At 6'7" I dread long cross country flights in a middle seat. I also dread walk in theaters and tight seating in vehicles. Alas, I discovered "Seat Slammers!" I purchased the rear seat lowering kit, and have never been happier with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL. It's more comfortable (and safer), especially for a long trip. Now my head does not hit the sound bar and my knee isn't wedged to the center console. Would I buy them again? Easy answer.............100% YES.

Went with the 2 inch drop and love it. I wish I would have done this sooner. Better visibility out of the front windshield. I’m 6’4” so it helped a lot.

I had to self tap every single hole to get the screws go through them. You guys could’ve did that better. if I didn’t have my own self tapping kit to fix your guys mistake I wouldn’t have been able to use the kit you guys need a do better quality check. actually run bolt through it instead of just sending it out the door.

Great company, great product… the JLU seats are too high… this drops it a couple inches which even if the full two inches isn’t needed it’s nice to use the height bar thing to come up a bit… very happy w it. Instal is a thing for inept folks like me but manageable
