Important Notes

  • For the Chevrolet Colorado / GMC Canyon — Driver Side Only.
  • The smaller, notched Seat Jacker installs on the transmission tunnel side of the seat.
  • You will reuse the factory rear seat bolts. Apply Blue Loctite to the factory rear bolts before reinstalling them.
  • We strongly recommend having a helper available. The seat must be lifted during installation.
  • Front seat trim: Only the door-side trim needs to be removed. Be careful when removing trim, as the retaining tabs can break easily.

Step 1 — Remove the Seat Trim

If equipped, remove the trim piece from the door side of the seat base.

Step 2 — Remove the Rear Seat Bolts

  1. Slide the seat all the way forward.
  2. Locate the Torx bolt at the rear of each seat rail.
  3. Remove both rear Torx bolts.
  4. The door-side rear bolt is located underneath the carpet.

Do not discard these bolts. You will reuse them during installation.

Step 3 — Unhook the Front of the Seat

The front of the seat is secured by factory hooks.

To release the seat:

  1. Place one hand near the headrest and push the seat forward.
  2. At the same time, lift the front of the seat and push backward on the front portion of the seat to release the factory hooks.

Refer to the installation photos on the product listing at DesertDoesIt.com for the correct position and movement.

Step 4 — Install the Seat Jackers

Have your helper support the seat while you install the Seat Jackers.

  1. Lift the front of the seat approximately 6 inches off the floor.
  2. Slide each Seat Jacker onto the front of the seat rail, where the factory hooks were located.
  3. Make sure the hooks on the Seat Jackers face the same direction as the original factory hooks.
  4. Important: The smaller notched Seat Jacker goes on the transmission tunnel side of the driver seat.

Step 5 — Reinstall and Torque the Seat

  1. Carefully lower the seat back toward the floor.
  2. Make sure both Seat Jackers properly hook into the factory floor mounting locations.
  3. Verify that the rear of the seat rails is positioned correctly over the original mounting holes.
  4. Apply Blue Loctite to the factory rear bolts.
  5. Reinstall the factory rear bolts and tighten them to 30 ft-lbs.
  6. Before driving, verify that the seat is securely mounted and all hardware is properly tightened.

Final Check

Recheck the seat mounting bolt torque at regular intervals.
