INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Important Notes:

Prior to beginning this or any installation read these instructions to familiarize yourself with the required steps and evaluate if you are experienced and capable to personally performing these modifications. A factory service manual for the air compressor and vehicle should be used in conjunction with these installation instructions.

Installation instructions

General Note: To help prevent cross threading during installation, we recommend verifying bolts and threads by taking the applicable bolts and threading them in by hand to the corresponding hole. Also, depending on the floor mats in your vehicle, they may interfere with the Compressor Plate.

Prior to installing the compressor under the seat, you will want to prewire the compressor per the directions included with your compressor. Be sure to route all wires so they are free and clear of any hazards or high heat areas.

Step One: Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake and disconnect battery terminals.

Step Two: Mount your compressor to Desert Does It Under Seat Compressor Mount. The mounting holes for your compressor of choice should be easily identifiable. The Compressor plate is universal depending on which side of the vehicle it’s going on.

Step Three: With the provided hardware attach both Kick Plate and Quick Release Plate. On the driver or passenger seat, remove the rear factory seat base bolts (T50 JLU or E12 JT). Then loosen the bolts in the front. (DO NOT REMOVE). Note: If you are installing on the passenger side, slide the Quick Connect Plate all the way in towards your trans tunnel. If you are installing on the driver’s side, slide Quick Connect Plate towards the door. M6 bolts, washers, and nuts will be used to attach the Kickplate and Quick Connect Plate. Place washers on the slotted side of the plate.

Step Four: Lift the back side of the seat to slide the compressor plate into place.(Be careful not to damage any wire harness plugs). The two ½” holes will slide underneath each rear seat leg.

Step Five: Slide the two provided ¼” spacers under the compressor plate (This will fill the gap from the carpet).

Step Six: Take the provided M10 1.5 x 40mm Flange bolts, Blue Loctite and re-attach your seat to the floor. Next pull each front bolt and apply Blue Loctite and secure the front of the seat to the floor. Torque these bolts to 35 ft-lbs.

MOUNTING TWIN ARB COMPRESSOR. The twin ARB compressors allow for configuring the outlet port to best suit the installation position and desired position. To get the most clearance, rotate the outlet port to the bottom of the compressor and feed the air hose under the compressor. This is the tallest part of the compressor so the lower you can rotate it the better (See pictures).

MOUNTING VIAIR COMPRESSOR. Remove any rubber bumpers or stand offs from the ViAir brackets. Unbolt the “L Type” brackets from the ViAir compressor and rotate them 90 degrees. This is so the compressor can be flush mounted to the Desert Does It Compressor Mount. The “L Type” bracket nearest the filter will be mounted inward and the bracket nearest the air outlet mounted outward. Mount the ViAir compressor with the outlet hose facing the passenger door. On the Desert Does It Compressor Mount. Bolt from the underside of the Desert Does It Compressor Mount through the ViAir “L Type” brackets.
