INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Important Notes:

  • Prior to beginning this installation, thoroughly read the instructions to familiarize yourself with the required steps. Evaluate if you are experienced and capable to personally perform these modifications. A factory service manual for the vehicle should also be used in conjunction with these installation instructions.

  • The seat weight sensor is extremely sensitive, handle the seat very carefully. Do not drop the seat. Do not sit in the seat while it is on the floor. If the sensor is damaged, replace the unit. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or death.

  • If you do the full drop, the outside seat trim may rub on the B Pillar plastic trim. This only happens if the seat is pumped all the way down, if you lift the seat up one pump, it will not interfere with the B Pillar trim.

  • Before installation, verify there are no obstructions under the seat that would prevent the seat from being “Slammed”. Although we verified on several models and trim levels, we cannot account for mid-year changes or trim changes.

    Installation Instructions: SEAT REMOVAL

    • Step One: Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake and disconnect battery terminals.

    • Step Two: Remove all front and rear factory seat base bolts (four 18mm Hex Head Bolts). Remove the T45 Torx bolt that mounts the seat belt to the side of the seat.

    • Step Three: Lift the front of the seat to gain access to the seat wiring. Unclip and disconnect any wiring between the vehicle and the seat.

  • Step Four: Gently and carefully remove the seat from the Jeep and place it upside down on a flat work surface.

  • Installation Instructions: SEAT RAIL CUTTING AND DRILLING

    • Step Five: With the seat upside down, measure 1.5 inches from the rear seat rail bolt and mark a cut line on the seat leg (see images). Do this to both seat legs.

  • Step Six: Double check that the cut line matches the provided photos. IF YOU ARE NOT 100% CONFIDENT THAT THE CUT LINE IS MARKED CORRECTLY, DO NOT PROCEED TO STEP SEVEN!

  • Step Seven: Are you ready to cut your seat rails? This is serious and you want to triple check everything is correct.

  • Step Eight: Here we go! Take your Sawzall w/Metal Cutting Blade or Angle Grinder w/Cutoff Wheel and begin cutting the seat leg off along the cut line from Step Five. See images

  • Step Nine: With both rear seat rail legs cut off, removing the 2x 13mm Flange Nuts that hold each seat rail onto the seat. With the nuts removed, place each Seat Slammer Leg onto each seat rail and replace the 13mm Flange Nuts. Use your drill and 5/16” drill bit to drill out the 3rd hole through each seat leg by using the Slammer Leg as a guide.

  • Step Ten: Repeat Steps Five through Nine on both seat rails.

  • Step Eleven: Remove Seat Slammer Legs and use your file to remove any rough edges around the cut and drill areas. Next hit those areas with a can of your favorite spray paint.

  • Installation Instructions: INSTALLING SEAT SLAMMERS

    • Step Twelve: Using the 4x factory 13mm flange nuts, install the Seat Slammer Legs onto each seat rail with loctite. Use the provided 2x Button Head Bolts, 2x Flange Nuts, and 2x Fender washers and install them through the holes drilled in Step Nine.

    • Step Thirteen: Torque all six flange nuts to 25 ftlbs.

Installation Instructions: REINSTALLING SEAT INTO JEEP

    • Step Fourteen: Before lifting the seat back into the Jeep, place the two Front Wedge Shims onto the floor where each forward seat leg bolts down. The thickest part of the wedge will be facing the front of the vehicle. Take the single Seat Slammer Spacer and place it onto the floor where the rear bolts down nearest the transmission tunnel.

    • Step Fifteen: Take the seat from the work surface and place it back into the Jeep being careful to set the seat legs onto the Front Wedge Shims and Seat Slammer Spacer installed in Step Fourteen.

    • Step Sixteen: Installing the front factory bolts. Loosely reinstall the factory bolts into the same threaded holes you removed them from in Step Two (the bolts will go through the seat legs, through each Front Wedge Shims and thread into the floor).

    • Step Seventeen: Installing the rear bolts. The rear door side Seat Slammer Leg does not require any spacers and the factory bolt is reused. The provided 70mm M12 Flange Bolt is used on the transmission tunnel Seat Slammer Leg. The 70mm M12 Flange Bolt will go through the seat leg, through the Seat Slammer Leg and into the threaded hole in the floor.

    • Step Eighteen: If the seat rail holes are not lining up, adjust the seat rails individually until they do.

Reinstall all under seat plugs that were disconnected and torque all four M12 bolts to 75 ftlbs.
